Just weeks away from Ethiopia's planned first filling of the new dam, we delve into the issues at stake

The Nile is Egypt and Egypt, for many, is the Nile. For over 8,000 years, this historic river has nurtured civilization.

But now, Cairo says that’s under threat. Hundreds of kilometres upstream, Ethiopia has built a mega-dam. It stands moer than 150 metres tall and nearly 1,800 meters long.
